Former Teacher Charged With Sexual Misconduct

Morton - 04-17-2013 - Feature PicA former substitute teacher at Albertville High School has been arrested – after she allegedly had an inappropriate relationship with a 17 year old male student.

34 year old Jennifer Marie Morton had worked at the school for approximately three weeks, prior to being terminated.

Albertville High School Principal Paul McAbee, informed the Sand Mountain Reporter – that the termination was due to poor job performance, and that administrators had no prior knowledge of the allegations that she’d had inappropriate contact with a student.

Morton has been charged with sexual misconduct, which is a misdemeanor.

She was booked into the Albertville City Jail and later released on a $5,000 bond; she has a court date of May 21st in that case.
