Mayor Tony Wilkie was one of the special guests on hand as Cherokee Home Health and Hospice held Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies for its new office, located in Cherokee Plaza next to Howard’s Jewelers.
Cherokee Home Health and Hospice Administrator Robin Weston says the agency is growing and the additional space was needed for conferencing and storage.
Most of the work is done out in the community, taking care of patients in their homes with services ranging from managing medications and IV therapy to education and wound care.
Cherokee Home Health and Hospice is an affiliate of Community Health Systems, which also owns Cherokee Medical Center.
Weston added that the agency appreciates being part of the community.
Following the ceremony, refreshments were served, including a special cake made just for the occasion.
