Firefighters were dispatched to a vehicle fire at the remote dump site on West Spring Creek Road near the Mountain View Community of Chattooga County, Georgia Friday morning.
According to eyewitnesses, the small pickup truck pulled up to unload some garbage, when the attendant at the dump site told the driver that it looked like flames were coming from the engine compartment.
The driver of the truck quickly retrieved a small dog from the vehicle, just before the truck burst into flames. Firefighters from Trion and Hays State Prison were called to the scene to put out the fire.
The truck was a total loss.
