Today, we are honored to highlight Broomtown Fire Chief David Glenn

Fire Chief David Glenn has dedicated 27 years to the fire service, with a steadfast commitment to protecting the residents of Cherokee County and beyond. For the past 21 years, he has served with distinction as Fire Chief of the Broomtown Volunteer Fire Department, leading with experience, courage, and an unwavering sense of duty.

Throughout his career, Chief Glenn has continuously advanced his professional knowledge and skills. He holds multiple certifications through the Alabama Fire College, including:

Firefighter I

Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)

Wildland Firefighter

He is also certified in key emergency management protocols, having completed:

NIMS 100 (Incident Command System Introduction)

NIMS 200 (ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents)

NIMS 700 (National Incident Management System Overview)

NIMS 800 (National Response Framework Introduction)

Chief Glenn’s leadership at Broomtown VFD has been instrumental in strengthening the department’s operational readiness, expanding training opportunities for volunteers, and ensuring the highest standards of service to the community.

Under his direction, the department has consistently delivered effective, compassionate emergency response to fires, medical emergencies, natural disasters, and search and rescue incidents.
