The City Council of Piedmont met Tuesday evening for their regular meeting. The work session began at 5:30 with the regular meeting to follow at 6pm. The first order of business the council approved the previous meetings minutes and payment of the bills both were approved. Mayor Baker read the Tree City proclamation proclaiming April 25 as Arbor Day.
The council approved the ABC application for JB’s Wings & Things, they also passed Ordinance No. 639 which prohibits the manufacture, marketing, distribution and sale of certain CBD products. The council also passed Ordinance 640 which prohibits someone bringing an alcoholic beverage into a restaurant. The only exception is if the event is private then “brown bagging” is permitted. Tim Frost requested the council to approve the purchase of a Bush Hog and other equipment needed for the purchase price of $19,066.00. The request was approved by the council.
In other business a motion was made that the city pay for the installation of a hood that has been supplied by NK Café at the cost of $18,165.71, the motion passed unanimously. Both the Police and Fire departments presented their reports for the council. There were no visitor comments. The council, Clerk, and Mayor gave brief comments. A motion was made to adjourn.
