Children’s Advocacy Center of Cherokee County Calling on Local Churches, Faith Communities to Participate in Blue Ribbon Sunday of Prayer

The Children’s Advocacy Center of Cherokee County is calling on local churches and faith communities to participate in Blue Ribbon Sunday of Prayer on April 27, 2025, in recognition of National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Blue Ribbon Sunday, part of the national Blue Sunday Day of Prayer, invites congregations to pause and pray for the victims of child abuse, the survivors, and those working daily to rescue and heal children across the country. The CAC encourages churches to wear blue on April 27, share information with their congregations, and consider mission offerings or symbolic displays such as blue ribbons.

Free bulletin inserts and a one-minute video are available on the CAC website for use during services. Churches can also schedule a speaker to learn more about child abuse prevention, mandatory reporting, and local mission opportunities.

“Faith communities have always played a vital role in protecting children,” said Lori Harris, Executive Director of The Children’s Advocacy Center of Cherokee County. “By participating in Blue Ribbon Sunday, churches can come together in prayer and purpose, standing up for the most vulnerable and offering hope where it’s needed most.”

For materials, speaker requests, or to get involved, visit https://cherokeecountycac.org or contact the CAC directly at 256-927-2111. Bulletin inserts and video can be found under the Child Abuse Prevention tab on the News and Events section of the CAC website.
