Join us in congratulating Sergeant Jeremy Johnson for receiving two awards at last nights City Council Meeting: The Life Saving Award and Officer of the 1st Quarter, 2025.
On February 1st, 2025, Sergeant Johnson responded to a call of a subject possibly attempting to commit suicide. Upon arrival, the subject was unable to be located and Sergeant Johnson immediately made attempts to gather information on the possible location of the subject. Using camera technology and investigative resources, he was able to obtain an area that the subject may possibly be and a cell phone number. With the assistance of Etowah County 911, Calhoun County 911, and the Piedmont Police Department, the subjects cell phone was tracked and the subject was located actively attempting to commit suicide. Due to the swift actions of Sergeant Johnson, the subjects life was saved. This is a job well done by Sergeant Johnson and all those who assisted. Thank you Sergeant Johnson for your commitment to serving the citizens of Southside!!
