Future Country Star Scotty Hasting Stops By For a Visit

Scotty Hasting is a name country music fans will hear a lot of in the future. Scotty stopped by the WEIS Radio studios for a conversation and to play his rendition of “Til the Last Shot’s fired,” which was originally recorded by Trace Adkins. Hasting enlisted the help of Lee Brice and the legendary Dolly Parton to re-record the song.

Scotty found his love of music through tragedy. Barely escaping death while serving in our nation’s military Hasting was left with severe nerve damage from his injuries which ended his journey in the army. As the case with many of our nation’s veterans Scotty suffers from PTSD and like many was struggling to deal with day to day life.

However Hastings journey was far from over he found a new purpose in music and in archery. When asked about the archery he said “I found when shooting archery and was at full draw, about to release that arrow nothing mattered. All the depression, the PTSD, all the demons that knock everyday that I have to deal with , they disappear, So for seven seconds I found peace.”

Scotty’s other passion  of music has paid off for him as well he has opened for acts such as Lee Brice, Dave Grohl, Chris Janson, Jelly Roll, Craig Morgan and many others. Scotty has released other original music such as the light-hearted “Pro-Beer.” But he isn’t stopping there after finding his escape from PTSD through his music and archery Scotty devotes his time to several organizations. He is involved with Pen Fed Foundation, Creativets, Guitars4vets, Operation Encore and many more. For information on his tour dates visit scottyhasting.com.
