Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

…FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL TUESDAY AFTERNOON…
* WHAT…Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE…Chattooga River at Summerville.
* WHEN…Until Tuesday afternoon.
* IMPACTS…At 14 feet, Minor flooding of woodlands and fields begins along the river upstream and downstream from the gage on U.S. Highway 27 or Rome Boulevard.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 9:45 AM EDT Monday the stage was 12.9 feet and rising.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this afternoon to a crest of 14.6 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow morning.
– Flood stage is 14 feet.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.

* WHAT…Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE…Armuchee Creek at Old Dalton Road near Rome.
* WHEN…From this afternoon to Tuesday afternoon.
* IMPACTS…At 21 feet, Minor flooding continues and expands further into the woodlands…fields and pastures along the creek upstream and downstream from the gage on Old Dalton Road.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 9:45 AM EDT Monday the stage was 17.1 feet and rising.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this afternoon to a crest of 20.1 feet late tonight. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow morning.
– Flood stage is 19 feet.
