Sand Rock softball sets the tone early, holds on at Fyffe

FYFFE – Sand Rock scored four runs in the top of the first inning, two more in the second and one in the third, then held on for a 7-5 softball win at Fyffe on Tuesday.

Aubie Camp led the Lady Wildcats at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Emma Sipsy doubled, walked, scored a run and had two RBIs. Macy Martin had a hit and scored two runs.

Addisyn McMichen had a hit and scored a run. Alyvia McMichen and Raven Todd both finished with a hit.

Aliyah King walked and scored a run. Molly Grace Lay and Maddie Clanton both scored a run.

Sipsy earned the win after working 4 1/3 innings. She gave up a pair of earned runs on 10 hits with two walks and three strikeouts. Martin tossed 2 2/3 innings and gave up an unearned run on a hit with no walks and three strikeouts.

Sand Rock travels to Glencoe on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
