On March 6th, Lester Thornberry was convicted in District Court of Cherokee County on 3 Counts of Harassment involving minor females. The Bench Trial was conducted by Circuit Court Judge Jeremy Taylor who found Thornberry guilty in all 3 cases. He was sentenced to jail time, Court Costs, and a $500 fine in each case.
WEIS Radio News has learned Mr. Thornberry has filed an appeal with the Circuit Court of Cherokee County. According to Court records, his case is on the Circuit Court Docket in September in Circuit Judge Shaunathan Bell’s Court.
Thornberry resigned his position as teacher and coach with the Cherokee County Board of Education effective at the end of the current school year. He has been on leave since he turned himself into law enforcement in December.
