Mr. Rodney Earl Simmons, age 87 of Centre, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2025 at his residence.
A private memorial service may be held at a later date.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa Simmons; Daughters, Marla Sinyard and Stephanie Amos; Granddaughters, Chryste Amos Brooks, Kimberly Amos DuBroc, Mikayla Morris Mazrouie; Great-grandsons, Logan Brooks, Harrison Brooks, Warren Brooks; Chosen family, Bobby Paul, Jennifer Paul, and Emilee Paul.
Rodney was the son of the late Ernest and Gertrude Simmons, born in Orlando, Florida. Mr. Simmons retired from his career in law enforcement with Cobb County, GA and the City of Powder Springs Police Department. He was a proud veteran of the Air Force, a devoted member of Centre Church of Christ, and a devout family man.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the Cherokee County Humane Society in Rodney’s name to 5015 Alabama Hwy 9 North Cedar Bluff AL 35959.
