ANNISTON, AL — After 13 years of dedicated service to the Community Foundation
of Northeast Alabama, President & CEO Jennifer S. Maddox announced her decision
to retire, effective February 14, 2025. Jennifer has been instrumental in shaping
CFNEA’s growth and success, leading it through numerous milestones and
establishing a legacy of excellence.
During her tenure, Maddox has overseen key strategic initiatives that have significantly expanded the CFNEA’s footprint in Northeast Alabama, leading to the Community Foundation becoming Northeast Alabama’s Philanthropic Partner. Maddox has also built a dynamic leadership team that fosters a culture of innovation, integrity, and community engagement.
“I am incredibly proud of everything we have achieved together, and I have full confidence that the future of CFNEA is as bright as ever,” Maddox said. “As I take this next step, I look forward to seeing the Community Foundation thrive under new leadership.”
CFNEA’s Board of Trustees will initiate a comprehensive search for the next president & CEO and is committed to ensuring a seamless transition.

leadership,” said Anthony Cook, chair of the Board of Trustees. “Jennifer’s vision and commitment have been a driving force behind CFNEA’s growth and success, and we are thankful for the remarkable impact she has had on the organization, its employees, and its stakeholders.”
He added that Maddox’s career should be celebrated and that the foundation is planning a retirement party.

She has achieved so much as our CEO, and I look forward to celebrating her alongside Community Foundation donors, partners, and colleagues.”
