A scholarship opportunity is available for seniors in the Cherokee County School system.

The Scholarship opportunity is available in honor of Sergeant Christopher Michael Vaughn of the Cedar Bluff police department. Sergeant Vaughn died in the line of duty on Friday, April 1st after suffering from a medical condition after a pursuit that day. He had served with the CBPD for six years, and with Leesburg Police for seven years prior. The scholarship was created at the wishes of his family to honor his memory.
