The City of Attalla honored Ellvie Smith who was on the Kids Baking Championship Show with a Proclamation read by Mayor Means at the City Council meeting Monday night.

Ellvie brought cupcakes that she baked and shared at the meeting. The City of Attalla is proud to have Ellvie represent our community. We wish you the best in all the cooking endeavors in the future.

The eleven year old Attalla resident was one of a dozen kids featured on the Food Network’s “Kids Baking Championship.” She competed for a $25,000 prize. Her family had entered her for a spot on the show, and thought maybe it was a prank when they later received an email asking her to audition for the show. She traveled out to Los Angeles, CA for the filming. While she fell in the first elimination round of the show, she says she will be on TV once again. She continues to take baking classes to improve her craft.
