Cherokee County EMA’s Joey Weaver Completes Advanced Public Information Officer Training
Cherokee County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is excited to share that our Public Information Officer (PIO), Joey Weaver, has successfully completed FEMA’s Advanced Public Information Officer Course.

This intensive five-day training equips PIOs with the skills needed to communicate effectively during emergencies and work within a Joint Information Center (JIC). The course includes hands-on exercises, group activities, and real-world scenarios to help participants manage information during high-pressure situations.
Joey’s completion of this training strengthens our ability to provide accurate, timely updates to the community during emergencies.
