ALEXANDRIA – Tatum Perry posted 17 points, including three 3-pointers, in leading the Cherokee County Warriors to a 73-59 basketball win over White Plains in the Class 4A, Area 12 tournament semifinals at Alexandria on Saturday.
Owen Jacoway added 14 points for the Warriors (12-7), who will now face Alexandria in the tournament final on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Alexandria defeated Cleburne County 69-51 in other area tournament semifinal on Saturday.
Reid Jacoway and Keyshawn Woods both scored 11 points for Cherokee County. Ben Moseley netted nine points and Jayquan Diamond finished with six points.
Bryson Cheatwood led the Wildcats with 18 points. Ethan Turner tallied 14 points, including a pair of treys. Will Graham tossed in nine points and Crew Martin finished with seven points.
Cherokee County held a 22-20 lead at the end of the first quarter and a 36-33 advantage at halftime. The Warriors extended their lead to 56-46 at the end of the third quarter and outscored White Plains 17-13 in the fourth for the final.
