Hendon tosses in 40 points, but Trojans’ basketball season ends at Faith Christian

ANNISTON – Collin Hendon scored a game-high 40 points, including four 4-pointers, but the Gaylesville Trojans’ basketball season ended with an 85-61 loss at Faith Christian of Anniston in the Class 1A, Area 12 tournament on Friday.

Colin Anderson connected on 10 treys and finished with 30 points for the Lions, who advance to face top-seeded Spring Garden on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.

Parker Robertson delivered 24 points, including three 3-pointers for Faith. Toby Ricard rang for 10 points. Bridger Kirk and Camden Martin both scored six points. Ethan Taft finished with five points.

Bryson Thompson added six points on a pair of treys for Gaylesville. Caden Angle and Aydn Heinrich both finished with five points.

Faith Christian led at each of the quarter breaks. The Lions held a 26-18 edge after one and a 52-33 advantage at halftime. They were up 70-44 at the end of three quarters.
