SAND ROCK – Four Sand Rock Lady Wildcats scored in double figures, led by Molly Grace Lay’s 14 points, in a 78-14 blowout of Pleasant Valley in the Class 2A, Area 13 basketball tournament on Saturday.

Lay also dished out five assists for the third-ranked Lady Wildcats (23-6). Macey Pruitt and Peyton Johnson both posted 13 points. Maddie Clanton collected 12 points, 12 rebounds and six steals. Paitlyn Hughes and Kaylee Burns finished with eight points apiece.

Sand Rock hosts Cedar Bluff for the area championship on Tuesday at 6 p.

m. Cedar Bluff defeated Gaston 60-32 in Saturday’s other tournament semifinal.
