ALBERTVILLE – Jake Middlebrooks scored a game-high 27 points, but they weren’t enough to lead the Collinsville Panthers past Asbury in boys basketball action on Monday evening. The Panthers fell by the final of 61-57.
Zach Clanton contributed 10 points for the Panthers. Sylas Adams added nine points and Sam Stewart finished with seven points.
Lucas Wyatt led the Rams with 17 points. Colin Parker provided 13 points. Eduardo Ramirez netted nine points. Blake Hillis had eight points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Josiah Webber finished with five points.
Asbury led after one 15-12, but Collinsville surged ahead at halftime 26-19. The Panthers held a 39-35 advantage after three quarters before Asbury outscored Collinsville 26-18 in the fourth for the final.
Collinsville travels to Gaylesville on Tuesday.
