The Cherokee County Emergency Response team was activated on a domestic violence call involving a weapon this morning. Deputies responded to a 911 call at a residence on County Road 33. The call came in stating that she had been locked out of her home, and her boyfriend had barricaded himself inside and was making threats to harm law enforcement if they responded.
The caller went to a neighbor’s home, looking for assistance, and the subject reportedly fired a shot in her direction. Upon officers arriving at the scene, the subject was discovered outside of the residence, in proximity to the neighbor’s fence, and appeared to be searching for the victim. A firearm was also recovered near the fence line. The weapon was reportedly taken by force from the victim.
Jessee Free was arrested without further incident and charged with Domestic Violence 3rd, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. This is a breaking story, and if more information becomes available, it will be updated.
