Garden girls crush Faith Christian 69-19

ANNISTON – Four Spring Garden Lady Panthers scored in double figures, led by Olivia Law’s 16 points, in a 69-19 area basketball rout at Faith Christian on Tuesday.

Law also contributed four rebounds, three steals and two assists for the top-ranked Lady Panthers (24-1). Ace Austin added 10 points, six assists, five steals, four rebounds and a block. Kylie Bates posted 10 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, with two blocks, a rebound, an assist and a steal. Montana Highfield also had 10 points and two treys with four steals, three rebounds, three blocks and an assist.

Maggie Jarrett managed eight points, five rebounds, four assists, a block and a steal. Carmen Truss finished with six points and four rebounds.

Spring Garden jumped out on a 22-0 first-quarter run and led 43-3 at halftime.

The Lady Panthers look to earn their sixth straight Cherokee County Tournament championship when they open tournament play at Richard Lindsey Arena on Friday at 4 p.m. against the winner of Thursday’s Gaylesville-Cedar Bluff game.
