Registered Nursing Graduates Recognized at Pinning Ceremony

 The Gadsden State Community College Health Sciences Division hosted a pinning ceremony for students who completed requirements to become registered nurses. The pinning ceremony was held Dec. 16 at Gadsden State Cherokee. The Fall 2024 graduates are:

Anniston – Joshua McKenzie and Shanna Mullinax

Boaz – Jason Key

Cedartown, Ga. – Chloe Livingston

Centre – Lena Engel, Mackenzie Hunter, Katlyn Kittle, Tyson Trammell and David “Jay” Watts

Gadsden – Jessica Brumblow, Michael “Todd” Mckiven, Kyara Miliner and Hope Thomason

Gaylesville – Crystal Swindall

Graham – Jessica Hurley

Hokes Bluff – Phillip “Austin” Burchfield

Oxford – Alison Bates

Ranburne – Spencer Pollard

Rome, Ga. – Alana Carroll, Tara Ingram, Taylor Tanner and Ashton Vines

Silver Creek, Ga. – Jhaylan Redwine and Hannah Womack

Southside – Angela “Nikki” Gaskin

Summerville, Ga. – Hannah Thrasher

Thorsby – Haley Foshee

Several students were recognized for outstanding achievement during the pinning ceremony. The most prestigious award is the Florence Nightingale Award, which is given to the student who is the most committed to caring and compassionate nursing care. The winner of the cohort is Jhaylan Redwine.

The Excellence in Academic Achievement Award was presented to Joshua McKenzie, who had the highest grade point average in the class.

Students awarded the Academic Achievement Award for above-average grades and performance are Jessica Brumblow, Austin Burchfield, Mackenzie Hunter, Jessica Hurley, Chloe Livingston, Kyara Miliner, Haley Foshee, Crystal Swindall, Hope Thomason, Tyson Trammell and Hannah Womack.
