Mr. Alton Len Hogan, 70 of Centre, passed away Tuesday, December 17 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. He retired after 41 years of service to Cherokee Electric Co-op and was a bus driver for Cherokee County Schools. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Centre, Weiss Lake Antique Power Association, and the Monday Night Rook Club.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Weaver Hogan ,daughter Kandi (Josh) Garmany, grandchildren Jackson and Abby Garmany, step father Orvel Holcomb, and chosen niece, Rebecca Prather. He was preceded in death by his parents Earnest “Tater” Hogan, Glenda Holcomb, step father R.G. Sherrod, and sister LeeAnn Hogan Prather. .
Visitation will be Thursday, December 19 from 3:30-5:00pm at Perry Funeral Home with services to follow at 5:00pm in the chapel.Burial will be Friday at 10:00am at Cherokee Memory Garden. Pallbearers will include Josh Garmany, Jackson Garmany, Kamdyn Kellett, Jim Garmany, Brett Garmany, Reid Bond, Chad Hopper and Danny Smith. Honorary pallbearers include Claude Robertson, Larry Rogers, Jimmy Black, Curley Tierce, Donald Sanders and Jamie Jordan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of First Baptist Church, Centre.
