Veteran’s Day 2024 / Cherokee County Avenue of Flags

Honor Veterans with the Avenue of Flags

The “Spirit of Cherokee” was organized back in October of 1994, and was incorporated on March 1st, l995 in Cherokee County.

The Avenue of the Flags is a special display for the young and elderly. We need to continue the longevity of this outstanding tradition for years and years; people around the United States don’t know how special Cherokee County is in our country.  Bear in mind, this is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization whose purpose is for promotion, enjoyment, and participation in events that are both civic and charitable, in nature.

The American Flags are flown on holidays throughout the year.  The Spirit of Cherokee maintains “the Avenue of Flags” (on Highway 411, between Centre and Leesburg) – which now consists of some 500 crosses – and the flags flow in memory of veterans from Cherokee County.
