Gadsden Police Department’s Newly Formed Narcotics Unit Recently Made a Very Large Drug and Firearms Bust

Gadsden Police Department’s newly formed Narcotics Unit recently made a very large drug and firearms bust.

Multiple Firearms and a large amount of suspected synthetic marijuana, mushrooms, methamphetamine, ecstasy and many other drugs were also confiscated. Those items were turned over to state and federal law enforcement agencies to test for other drugs, such as fentanyl.

Gadsden’s Narcotics Unit (Gadsden Police) recently confiscated many different drugs and several guns. “We’re not going to tolerate drugs in Gadsden,” said Gadsden Mayor Craig Ford. “We’ve worked to make sure this new Narcotics Unit has the resources they need to get these dangerous items off the streets”.

Since the beginning of this past October, the Gadsden Narcotics Unit has worked cases involving over 50 different individuals that in turn resulted in 72 charges. This special unit has also served five search warrants for narcotics and investigated 12 distribution cases and three drug trafficking cases
