After posting undefeated 10-0 regular seasons with their respective wins over Ranburne and Glencoe last Friday, the Spring Garden Panthers and Piedmont Bulldogs both moved up a spot in the final Alabama Sports Writers Association football rankings of the season.
The final poll was released early Wednesday morning.
Class 1A Spring Garden moved up a spot to No. 3 – the Panthers’ highest ranking since a three-week span at No. 2 to begin 2022. The Panthers host Victory Christian (5-4) in the first round of the state playoffs on Friday.
Class 3A Piedmont also inched up a spot to No. 2 – the Bulldogs’ highest ranking since last preseason. The Bulldogs entertain Collinsville (7-3) this Friday in the first round of the state playoffs.
Class 4A Cherokee County (9-1) maintained its No. 3 ranking. The Warriors are coming off a bye week and will host Westminster Christian (6-4) on Friday to open the state playoffs.
The final ASWA high school football rankings of the season are listed belwo, with first-place votes, win-loss record and total poll points.
