Collinsville City Council Regular Meeting

During the Monday afternoon Collinsville City Council Meeting, Mayor Johnny Traffanstedt addressed the Council with the Mayor’s Report. The Mayor discussed the street garage door not working properly. He said it needs a new motor and it’s been difficult to get this repaired.

Traffanstedt, also informed the Council he contacted the Mayor of Rainsville about the pricing and estimates of metal buildings. He feels this is the direction they should go for parking their trucks and backhoes. He will look into this further very soon. This was discussed by Council and will be reviewed at the next Council Meeting.

Next on the agenda, Jill Tidmore, the City Clerk told the Council she is working on the Fourth Quarter Budget and she will have it completed by the next Council Meeting.

Mayor Traffanstedt then called on Collinsville Police Chief Andy Brown to give the Police Report. Brown informed the Council that the new radios are in and they need new cameras around the Police Department. Brown also gave the Council an update about the two girls who fell off the float last week and said their both doing well.

Fire Chief David Bowen also said the Fire Department’s new radios were in. Bowen informed the Council the Collinsville Fire Department’s white pickup is coming to him by Thanksgiving and their jeep is being worked on.

Librarian Jennifer Wilkens informed the Council of the November activities at the Collinsville Public Library. The big event will be on November 16 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. with a Turkey Trot and the Fall Library Open House will be November 18 at 6 p.m.

Also noted at the Council Meeting, Councilmember Donna Jones appeared on the Price is Right Game Show in California last week and did well.

The next Collinsville City Council Meeting will be on November 18.
