A Cherokee County man was fatally injured Wednesday afternoon after a riding lawnmower that he was operating turned over on him, pinning him underneath.
That tragic mishap took place in the Round Maintain Community.
According to Cherokee County Coroner Paul McDonald, 9-1-1 received a call stating a man was trapped underneath a lawnmower at 660 County Road 401. The individual, who was employed doing lawn care, was rushed to Floyd-Cherokee Medical Center by ambulance.
William Roden, Jr., was pronounced dead at 4:32pm from multiple Blunt Force Trauma. The victim – and the lawnmower – fell from a six-foot retaining wall.
Those responding to that scene included Floyd Cherokee EMS units and also the Cherokee County Rescue Squad.
