The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and Cherokee County Emergency Management Agency Hosting Free Boating Basics Course.

The Cherokee County EMA/Emergency Management Agency is pleased to announce two Boating Basics courses, being offered by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.  The courses will take place at the Cherokee County Emergency Management Agency, located at 260 Cedar Bluff Road Centre, Alabama.

The courses will be from 8:00am – 4:00pm – on October 19th, 2024 – and on November 23rd, 2024.

For those who currently DO NOT HAVE a boating certification and vessel endorsement on your license it is important to have THIS course BEFORE operating a vessel on area waterways.  This class is designed for ages 12 and up – and NO children under the age of 12 are eligible to take the exam.   Anyone under the age of 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older.

This class is being offered FREE of charge.

You will need to bring a notepad and something to write with; make sure you have your driver’s license with you, or your social security number if you don’t have a driver’s license.   If you just need a refresher you can attend one of these courses as well. Classes are presented by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and they are hosted by the Cherokee County Emergency Management Agency.
