Sand Rock goes 2-3 at Glencoe volleyball tournament

GLENCOE – Sand Rock went 2-3 for the day at the Glencoe volleyball tournament on Saturday. The Lady Wildcats (13-24) lost to St. Clair County 22-25, 24-25, defeated Coosa Christian 25-8, 25-10, then fell to Lincoln 25-20, 20-25, 19-21.

In the semifinal round of the silver bracket, Sand Rock beat Coosa Christian 25-22, 25-17, then lost in the silver bracket finals to St. Clair County 21-25, 22-25.

For the tournament, Peyton Johnson collected 24 kills and five blocks. Maddie Clanton accumulated 79 assists and 36 digs. Molly Grace Lay posted 58 digs. Paisley Ford contributed 20 kills. Macey Pruitt delivered 19 kills and five blocks. Kailee Patterson managed 16 kills. Caitlyn Lynch came away with 14 kills and five blocks. Paitlyn Hughes had 31 digs. Sophia Usher and Megan Smith both finished with 25 digs apiece.

Sand Rock plays Cedar Bluff in the first round of the area tournament on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Pleasant Valley.
