Sylvania too much for Collinsville

SYLVANIA – Behind Aiden Parham’s 160 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries, the Sylvania Rams bucked the Collinsville Panthers 41-7 in Class 3A Region 8 football action on Friday night.

It was the two DeKalb County teams’ first meeting in football since 2021. The Rams have now won the last seven meetings in the series.

Sylvania (5-2, 4-1), coached by former Collinsville quarterback and offensive coordinator Tanner Nelson, built a 10-0 first-quarter lead and led 27-7 at halftime. Mason McAteer accounted for the Panthers’ only touchdown on a 1-yard quarterback sneak in the second quarter.

Ram quarterback Griffin Turner completed 5 of 10 passes for 160 yards and a touchdown. Clayton Brown had two catches for 95 yards and a score.

Collinsville (4-3, 2-3) hosts Brindlee Mountain on Friday.
