SAND ROCK – Luke Gilbert completed 4 of 5 pass attempts for 135 yards and two touchdowns, and Legion McCrary added 120 yards and two scores on eight carries to lead top-ranked Pisgah to a 40-20 Class 2A Region 7 football victory at Sand Rock on Friday.
The Eagles (6-0, 3-0) built a 40-7 halftime edge.
Alec Ashley led Sand Rock (3-4, 2-2) by completing 13 of 27 pass attempts for 111 yards and a touchdown. Kane Robison led the Wildcat ground game with 68 yards on 13 carries with a touchdown. Gatlin Cox caught three passes for 40 yards. He also ran for 42 yards on eight carries.
Sand Rock has an open week this coming Friday before traveling to Cedar Bluff on Oct. 18.
