Gaylesville’s Baty runs wild in Trojans’ 56-0 blowout at Ider

IDER – Gaylesville senior running back Alex Baty accumulated 307 yards on 17 carries and scored five touchdowns in leading the Trojans to a 56-0 football blowout at Ider on Friday.

Baty eclipsed the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the season with his rushing performance. He now has 1,103 yards on 117 carries with 17 touchdowns this season. Baty also registered nine tackles on defense in the win.

The victory also marked the first shutout for the Trojans (3-3, 1-2 Class 1A Region 8) since Sept. 3, 2021 against Appalachian (30-0). Gaylesville led Ider 36-0 at halftime on Friday.

Jack Sentell added 75 yards on five carries. He also led the Trojan defense with 12 tackles and an interception.

Ben Henderson had 36 yards on four carries with a touchdown and Aydn Heinrich had 30 yards on three totes with a score for the Trojans.

Hunter Allmond threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Timmy Dawson for another score. Dawson posted 11 stops and Allmond 10 tackles on defense. Heinrich, Tanner Hughes and Karrson Ray each finished with eight tackles.

Gaylesville hosts Spring Garden on Friday.
