Jeremy Wade Bruce, a 41-year-old sex offender, was recently arrested by the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office after lying to a deputy, about where he was living.

Bruce, a registered sex offender recently requested to live at the address of 197 South 3rd Street in Summerville, Georgia.  However, deputies and Bruce’s probation officer had previously informed him that he could not reside at this location, as it was within 1,000 feet of a church – a violation of his probation terms.  When a deputy last spoke to Bruce about his living situation, he claimed to be homeless and agreed to contact the sheriff’s office with his sleeping location.  But Bruce never made that call – and he instead falsely told the officers that he was living with his parents.   BUT, in reality Bruce was residing at the prohibited 197 South 3rd Street address – which he admitted to the deputy at the time of his arrest.

Bruce was taken to the Chattooga County Jail, on charges of a Violation of Probation.
