On Friday afternoon, a special called meeting of the Cedar Bluff Town Council was held at 1:00 p.m.
The meeting got started with Cedar Bluff Mayor Tammy Crane requesting the Town Council go into an Executive Session.
After later reconvened at approximately 2:38 p.m., the Council unanimously voted to terminate Jennifer Runnels, the Cedar Bluff Town Clerk/Magistrate.
WEIS Radio asked Mayor Crane for the reason behind the termination; Crane said that she cannot divulge any information, because this is an ongoing investigation.
The next Cedar Bluff Town Council Meeting is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 23.
