DeKalb Officials Discuss ‘50% in Five Years Challenge’ to Fight Chronic Absenteeism

The DeKalb County Schools Superintendent, Wayne Lyles – was joined by Assistant to the Superintendent Crystal Webb, and also Board Members, the Honorable Steven Whitmire, Chief Juvenile Probation Officer Jimmy Wilbanks, Lieutenant Wesley Greeson and Sheriff Nick Welden – to sign a Resolution joining the “50% in Five Years Challenge” to address Chronic Absenteeism.

Joining them in efforts to meet student needs, and also to increase school attendance are:   Attendance Supervisor Jason Mayfield, Student Services Supervisor Tony Bell and DeKalb Youth Service Center Program Director Otis Washington.
