Boar’s Head Shuts Down Virginia Plant Linked to Outbreak

On September 13th, Boar’s Head shut down the Virginia plant that has been linked to the bacterial and listeria outbreak that has so far been connected to nine people dying and almost 60 hospitalizations. Also, after launching a recall in July and an investigation into the cause of all of the outbreaks, the company found that the spread was pinpointed to it’s liverwurst products. As a result Boar’s Head will permanently discontinue Liverwurst.
