David “Mad Dog” DeMarco Sports Talk Show begins this Saturday, Sept. 7, at 9am on WEIS. David spent 26 years as a sports talk show host on radio in Lansing, Michigan.
Upon retirement, he and his wife Carole, moved to Cedar Bluff to be closer to family members who had moved south. It was four years ago when the DeMarcos were in Cherokee County getting ready to build a home and relocate to where they are now, and David sought out Jerry Baker of WEIS Radio about the possibility of employment.
Three years later, David was hired as the afternoon newsman at WEIS. He inquired about the possibility of doing a sports talk program on WEIS. It took time to find a block of time we could set aside for the Mad Dog Show. The 9 until 11 am on Saturday was established as the time slot.
David works with Shannon Fagan, the Sports Director of WEIS, along with the Sports Broadcast Crew, Trent Dickeson, Tony Hathcock, and Nolen Sanford.
Tune in Saturday, 9 until 11, for The Mad Dog Show on WEIS 100.5 FM and 990 AM with your host, David “Mad Dog” DeMarco. He will be taking calls at 256-927-5152 and giving listeners a chance to win a sports jersey, which is a replica of the Olympic Team USA.
