One Fatally Injured, Two Hurt in Two-Vehicle Auto Accident in Cherokee County Monday Afternoon / UPDATED

Two people were hurt, and one fatally injured – in a two vehicle accident Monday afternoon in Cherokee County.

According to Alabama State Trooper reports – the accident took place on U.S. 411 at the intersection of County Road 34 – and that crash involved a 2015 Jeep driven by a female from Centre, and a 1994 Chevrolet that was being driven by a male from Centre.  Both drivers were hurt in the crash.

A male passenger in the Chevrolet – Mr. Joel Kiser, age 68 of Centre – was fatally injured.  Kiser was pronounced dead at the scene by the Cherokee County Deputy Coroner Josh Prater.

That accident took place at 4:44pm, in the Key Community – close to New Bethel Church and currently remains under the investigation of Alabama State Troopers and the Cherokee County Coroner’s Office.
