An inmate at the Floyd County Prison – Jonathan McGee, age 43, from the Cartersville area – was pronounced dead after being found unresponsive in his cell recently. According to the Georgia Department of Corrections Officials, McGee was found by prison staff who said he had overdosed on an unspecified drug.
He was pronounced brain dead on Wednesday of last week.
McGee had been housed at the Floyd County Prison since April, 2023 – on number of burglary charges.
