Gadsden Police Use License Plate Recognition Cameras to Investigate Multiple Thefts

Gadsden Police officers recently used their Flock Safety [1] License Plate Recognition (LPR) cameras to investigate multiple thefts in town, leading to the arrest of two suspects accused of multiple crimes across jurisdictions.

According to a recent Facebook post [3], Gadsden Police officers utilized their Flock Safety LPRs to investigate multiple jewelry thefts that occurred in town on June 19th and July 7th. Gadsden PD Detective Brock Sanders used the LPRs to review the movements of the suspects’ vehicle in Gadsden and elsewhere in an investigation that culminated in the duo’s arrest on July 9th.

The two suspects are facing multiple charges and are accused of involvement in the theft of over $100,000 in gold and jewelry from locations across the country.

“The Flock cameras have already yielded great results, proving to be a valuable asset in our crime-fighting efforts,” said the PD in a statement.
