The youngster, Kinley Nicole Anderson was with family members in Cherokee County when she disappeared late Saturday afternoon.

Sheriff’s Office Deputies – along with Leesburg Police and Fire units – the Cherokee County EMA – Cherokee County Rescue Squad – along with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Marine Division and the Atrium Floyd EMS units – all responded to the scene on Weiss Lake near Leesburg.  

Kinley, authorities and family said, fell off the dock at a lake home in the Hopewell Community. Once found, she was taken to Atrium Health Floyd Cherokee Medical Center in Centre, where she was pronounced dead at 7:30pm.

Kinley’s aunt, Kellye Palas, has started a GoFundMe page in order to help the family with the young girl’s burial.
