At around 3:30am, Wednesday (July 10th), a motorist hit a bear on McClain Street between Glencoe and Hokes Bluff. According to the man’s wife (Tasha Romano) – he was driving around 40 mph when he struck the animal. The wife stated the impact tossed the bear some 20 feet, before he got up and ran away.
Fortunately, it appears Mr. Romano was only shaken up in the mishap, as the vehicle did receive some damage due to the Impact.
