Centre City Council Meeting

Short Business Meeting for Centre City Council

During the Council meeting Tuesday afternoon, Johnny Williams with the Frost Accounting Firm of Gadsden, gave the Council an excellent report for the Audit year 2022-23. He said everyone with the City should be commended for their fiscal responsibility in handling the City’s resources. Williams said the audit reflected the revenues were above budgeted projections while the expenses were under the budgeted amount.

An official policy concerning the Police Department’s use of body cameras and body armor was approved. Two fire department expenditures were approved, one was boots to complete the turnout gear for the firefighters and the other was $2578 for a computer for the Fire Marshal’s truck so he can complete the required inspections throughout the city while he is onsite.

The Council voted to surplus 14 office chairs in the police department and to give them to the board of education.

The Mayor and Council extended their gratitude and appreciation to everyone who helped make the recent rodeo a great success.

The next City Council meeting will be held on July 2nd with the planning session at 4pm and the meeting at 5.
