Cherokee County certainly has a lot in store, especially this weekend – as EVERYONE is invited, and ENCOURAGED – to take part in this big SPECIAL event!

On Friday morning Keith Baldwin with American Auctioneers and Mattie Williams with the McCord’s Crossroads Homemakers Club were guests in the studios of WEIS Radio as they discussed the huge “May Community Celebration” – honoring all those who currently serve and HAVE served our nation over the years by supporting America, through their heartfelt desire to join in and help make our nation the BEST it can be for ONE AND ALL!

This special event takes place this Saturday, May 18th on Armed Forces Day, starting at 10:00am in Forney, at the Hopewell Community Center and that event will have a large number of special representatives to help veterans in a number of different ways, there will also be arts and craft displays; delicious, homemade jams and jellies, a GREAT homemade meal for lunch; AND if time is limited, Service Members can simply stop by and pick up a plate FREE OF CHARGE!

Hopewell Community Center.

There’s plenty of parking space, so weather should not be a concern – as everyone is welcome to come indoors and tents will also be up across the grounds.

Golf Carts will also be provided to help anyone in need of assistance – the event is something everyone is sure to enjoy.

For more information, listen to our WEIS Radio interview with both Keith Day and Mattie Williams for full details on Saturday’s event:
