Cedar Bluff Town Council Meeting

Mayor Tammy Crane Asked the Council to approve the past minutes and Financial Reports. Then, Crane had Police Chief Jeremy Stepps give the Police Report for April. The Cedar Bluff Police Department patrolled 10,285 miles with 7 felony arrest and 10 warrants served.

Then, Fireman Bill Warren gave the Fire Report for April. There were 8 fire incidents in April. After that Mark Baty , the Building Inspector gave the Building Inspector Report for April. There were 66 Campers Permits purchased.

Mayor Crane addressed the Council about one application received for volunteer fireman.  This was Police Officer Dakota DeBerry which was approved. The quote for a brand new mosquito spray was tabled until the next meeting.

Next, on the agenda was the Installation of the Sign in the Town Park. The Council received one quote from Beasley Signs to install the sign along with the small pavilion to be replaced in the park. The small pavilion had to be torn down because it wasn’t up to code. The Council made a motion to put $5,000 towards installing and building a new metal pavilion. Both of these items were on the agenda  and were approved.

Then Mayor Crane addressed the Council about the need to for new water filled barricades for events in Cedar Bluff. The Council approved purchasing 10 out of the General Fund in the amount of $4,874.78.

The last item on the agenda was for the Council to approve 5 sets of turn out gear for the Fire Department.  The quote was $18,210.00 from North American Fire Equipment. The Council unanimously passed this purchase.

The next Cedar Bluff Town Council meeting will be June 3rd.
