LINCOLN – Mary Hayes Johnson won first place in four events to pace the Cherokee County Lady Warriors to a second-place finish in the Class 4A, Section 3 meet at Lincoln.
The Lady Warriors scored a total of 107 points, just 11 points shy of Montgomery Academy’s 118 points.
Johnson took first place in the 100-meter dash (12.47), first in the 200-meter dash (25.20), first in the 400-meter dash (57.63) and first in the 100-meter hurdles (15.31).
The Lady Warriors were also first in the 4×400 meter relay (4:07.92).
Ashton Pruitt claimed second in the shot put (33’8”). Shamiya McElrath took third in the 100-meter dash (12.71) and third in the 400-meter dash (59.09). Izzy Patterson posted a third place showing in the javelin (104’3”).
The Lady Warriors were third in the 4×100 meter relay (49.94) and third in the 4×800 meter relay (11:06.13).
The Warrior boys took 10th in the boys meet after scoring 40 points. Anniston won the boys meet with 125 total points.
Alex Johnson led the Warriors with a first place in the 100-meter dash (11.07), first in the 200-meter dash (21.71) and second in the 400-meter dash (49.41).
Daniel Burton was first in the discus (37’5”) and the shot put (15’11”).
