FYFFE – Emma Sipsy held Collinsville to just four hits and finished with six strikeouts in Sand Rock’s 4-0 softball victory in the Class 2A, Area 11 softball tournament at Fyffe on Friday.

Molly Lay led the Lady Wildcats at the plate by going 3-for-4 with a double and a run. Katelyn St.Clair collected a pair of hits, including a double, with a run and a RBI. Aliyah King also contributed two hits and a run. Payton Johnson tripled, walked and drove in three runs.

Aubie Camp came away with a hit, a walk and a run. Maddie Clanton and Bailey Kilgore both finished with a hit.

Lexii Burt led the Lady Panthers with a pair of hits. Bella Wills doubled and Gabriella Whitmore finished with a hit.

Wills suffered the loss. She gave up four earned runs on 11 hits with three walks and a strikeout.

Collinsville rebounded to defeat Gaston 18-3 in losers bracket action. Ella Coker homered, singled and drove in four runs to lead the Lady Panthers. Halle Peek also homered, singled and drove in three runs.

Karly Middlebrooks went 3-for-5 at the plate. Burt and Aubrey Reeves both doubled. Burt drove in two runs and Reeves drove in one.

Wills earned the win in the circle. She finished with six strikeouts.

Sand Rock takes on Fyffe on Monday at 3:30 p.m. Collinsville awaits the loser at 5:30 p.m. The area championship game is scheduled for Monday at 7:30 p.m.
