BOAZ – In the Sardis softball tournament on Saturday, Piedmont defeated Sardis 1-0 and lost to Madison Academy 2-0.
In the win over Sardis, Cayla Brothers went 2-for-3 with a triple and a run. Cacey Brothers had a RBI. Carson Young and Jaycee Glover both went 1-for-2.
Savannah Smith earned the win after working five innings. She gave up three hits and a walk with eight strikeouts.

In the loss to Madison Academy, Piedmont only managed three hits by both Brothers and Glover. Young suffered the loss after giving up an earned run on eight hits with two walks and three strikeouts.
